THE EXPECTATION OF SOMETHING GREAT!

GLOW-FEST TOBAGO 2015

What are your expectations when you go to a gospel event? 

A question like this have to be seriously evaluated/explored to understand who are the ones hosting the event. Look at the person/s persoy and the people around him/her and you will know what kind of event you're going to get or experience. Why did I say that?......I might be wrong, but I am sure I am more accurate. 

I am an event enthusiast, but for gospel events I look closely at the person/s behind the scene, to ask myself two simple questions, If I should or should not support this person? and that is important cause I will not want to support someone who is in it for selfish gain....selah

You see,..... I see events like its human. It dream, it grow, it eat etc, therefore just like any human being you have to nurture it and take good care of it, so the ones who are following will have a different experience each time and that have a lot to do with the individual that is behind the concept. Glow Entertainment 2015 on two occasions has/have proven that.

  And just like any human you will never be perfect and you will have folks with grievances.......Now for the folks on the ground. I ask a couple artiste who ministered at Glow-fest Tobago, and one thing that stood out to me in my conversations with them, is the aspect of mentor-ship and unity between upcoming and season artistes, that comradery seems to not be existed. In my opinion that is not the job of the promoter but the artistes themselves....I stand to be corrected, but when it comes to the hospitality of the local vs foreign, my question is, "should every one be treated equally?"..or is it all about who you are? as well as do you have prestige or not?......hmm, but their over all consensus of the event is that it was a well put together production.

My opinion of the glow entertainment team is that they've worked hard,.....real hard with minor hiccups from the stage management team, which causes the promoter in my view  to be over working/over walking e.g it have instances where the promoter have to be looking for his stage management team, and  to think they're suppose to be at the stage area......hmm.

 As for the show, what stood out to me was that people's general expectation/s was a disappointment, in which I was glad to see......and I have to ask myself are our concert patrons ready for a event where the Holy Spirit is present?....... cause you see the general expectation is that they go to events like these expecting a wild-out time, not thinking it will be a place where angels and people meet to give glory to God, to that point I was glad they were disappointed....cause the Holy Spirit did show up, if anybody left Glow fest saying "I did not feel the Holy Spirit or experience something great", didn't want to, cause from the start with the dancers, to Donald Job, Keylon Whitlock, Joshua Ali, Jaron Nurse, Gates Praise and up coming artiste to the Glow stage Brandon Baptiste, there was a ripple effect of an anointing moving through the complex, they set the stage.

And with a higher Level of anointing the masses had no choice but to give into the ministry of Sherwin Gardner, Jessica Reedy, Mali Music and in my opinion I was surprise by Positive who closed the event.....before I explain to you why I was surprise about Positive's ministry........., each artiste delivered more of the anointing and the call for the Holy Spirit to intervene, than of the flesh, which was a big plus...One artiste who have mastered the formula by carrying the masses up in a hype then to bring them into reverence of worship is Sherwin Gardner, for years of watching this man, I am amazed by his ministry, as for BET Sunday's Best Jessica Reedy, some people wasn't ready for her to be so transparent, even though she went over her allotted time, if she had came off at the time they gave her, the masses would of called her back (my opinion), one thing that hit home to me in her ministry was when she said " God love the brokenness of you....He don't want you to fix yourself up"  she also mentioned that "No body standing out....Like what we (christian) have to offer is not enough" she continued by asking a question " Are we desperate for acceptance?"..... you see we tend to think we have to be perfect before God, not realizing we are damaging ourselves in the process as well as moving away from God, He wants to be the one to fix us. Backed by the Master's Mindz Band, Jessica Reedy has expressed sincerity towards the masses....everything was on point the background vocals blow me away, and Ms. Jessica was appreciative of what she received from both the band and the masses. By the way she could of given more of her ministry.

Mali Music 

Now many people in my view were caught of guard by Mali's ministry, In my view and I will be going out on a limb here at first I was like huh.....what nonsense I seeing here, but as he goes deeper into his set I've realize that he has an unorthodox approach to delivery, Mali's music is quite different from what you will here from a US gospel artiste, Mali Music has mastered the art of fusing the elements of dancehall, reggae, hip hop and RnB into his music, to me his lyrics is a mixture of spoken word and poetry, which to me he is more like a story teller. (hope readers understand)...for a artiste backed by a DJ, who was simultaneously sang, played the guitar and the keyboard brought forth or rather illustrated a powerful ministry, some may beg to differ.......lol I asked myself if he had a band to work with?........selah.

Positive 

My honest opinion is all I could put out there, so I hope not to be judge for it.

Positive is one of Tobago's premier gospel artiste, who have the opportunity granted by God to grace both the gospel and secular stage, where as for some people will look at him as an entertainer, some say he is not a gospel artistes, but my opinion, people will and can say whatever, but never-the-less I believe God have a handle on his (Positive) life. 

As I said previously I was surprise a bit by his ministry as usual his musical arrangement on point, band and back ground vocals on point..... ku-does, But it was the emphasis of why "we should humble ourselves as Christians", the message he brought forth, for me was a moment that should of being explored a little more by him, his typical success/sad story that entails his mom and sister will forever be a stain on his heart and will be an encouragement to us and I do commend him for that. Positive in my view is coming into a place where his approach towards gospel music is elevating to more concentrating on ministry.......whoever beg to differ let me know......but as he stated in a Facebook post on Thursday 1st 2015

"Patiently waiting in anticipation for the manifestation of the power of the Spirit of God to be the norm. Concerts, conferences, services and every gathering of believers should be a place where Encounters with God breed miracles, healing, deliverance, true conviction for a righteous change. God wants to take us to a place where we consistently show His manifest glory. Don't get comfortable with a third party communicating with God on your behalf. Let's keep praying to go beyond, the natural keeping true holiness, purity, prayer and worship on top of agendas. I just desire to give God everything... Yes. Nothing else is worth our time. That shows not only the masses want to see or experience something different in concerts, but the ministers also is coming to deliver with the anticipation of people receiving a blessing, to be save or even receive a miracle. If I am wrong please say.

In all in all when you go to a gospel concert what should be your expectation? or better yet go with the expectation of being ministered to.

Church Folks Are Haters Too? (Explicit)

Disclaimer: I am not against Christianity and I am just against some of the things we condone as Christians. Parents strongly cautioned – some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.

It's understandable that any population that is consist of people with different opinions, tongue and teeth will meet, no problem with that, but when it have folks who will step over board of really not trying to comprehend the nature of someone or a situation, that does set me off. 

I am coming close to not calling myself a Christian, but say I am a believer and make that precedent, (That and all they might run and say Church Boy is not a Christian)....Smh....you will be right.

Because for me it seems like naming the name Christian is like saying now  you're a thief and a Lair. You see some of the things you Christians carrying on with and figure God blind, hmm, if you feel so, continue you stupid fool. 

It real serious! cause I am fed up of the way some so call Christians does operate, for e.g. If a brother or sister fault/fall short, your first instinct is to judge or crucify them,....like you so righteous and you behaving like you never fell.....by the way we (Christians) does sin bad everyday, you reading this now and say that's a lie, right at this time you sin.. So hush your.....New -F (Forgive) word  mouth......Why not pray or talk with the person? Big mistake no. 1.

Big mistake no. 2.. It have a top local gospel artiste who have being granted the opportunity by God not man to be in both the secular market as well as the gospel market, and you self righteous, stiff necked fools want to trash the artiste for ministering on a secular stage.....Matthew 28:19...read it (steam coming out my ears)........instead again u should be  praying, while they are toiling on behalf of the kingdom, you bad talking, what the hell you doing eh, the bible say go out into all the world and preach.......as well as shine your light....hold up!!!...where you want us to shine our light in the church?  Look at this, if we (Christians) are the light and we all together in the same place, who we shining light to or on? One of the most irritating thing is when a high beam (Bright Light) shining in my eyes.....seems like that is what we should continue to do, irritate one another...(sarcastically speaking).

Big mistake no. 3 : Churches who condoning folly and covering it up....and having people functioning, that is utmost B.S. (new-b word brave soul).....even so the individual them-self should step down for awhile sought yourself out, but now you continuing your SH....(new SH word-shame) and your pastor condoning, well its not a problem (sarcastically speaking)......hmmm.

Final mistake for this blog....Gospel artiste, musicians and pastors  who sexing around and you not married,....Who you preaching to? Who you trying convince you living a straight life?....stuepsss....I being down that road already and at that time it was a sin, even before it was a sin and guess what its still a sin..... I dealt with my situation publicly as well as personally,  not for fame, but for healing....you never fall far from grace when you are in Christ...Now my question still remain...Are Church Folks Haters? Don't get it wrong this a question that goes both ways......and my encouragement to us is we have to look out for each other. The experience was like of what I have written in the second paragraph. Oh my I almost forgot, you see this thing call gossip...hmm...some people in churches today behaving like the Lord's house is a brothel or some soap opera. All you could be going church for is to look for bacchanal and confusion, why not take way yourself, my view is if you of the world stay there, you can't want to be carrying on so and want to be holy and soulfully sold out for Christ, let me tell you something Christ don't deal with mess, so stop it. Again If I am wrong I'm stand to be corrected.

GLOW FEST 2015 - TOBAGO

What started as a community outreach event in 2006-2007, Glow Fest (the event) has open it's heart to evangelism using the powerful art of music. Not moving away from the vision, but evolving and expanding on it. Glow fest became national in 2010 to this present date, raising the standard of ministry in Tobago and Trinidad, giving local artists a platform/opportunity to express their gifting and talents.

Glow Entertainment, managed by Mr Kern Cowan, vision and goal as well as sights is set on revolutionizing the way we experience events of this magnitude, now that Glow Entertainment is having the notice of the international market,  there are much interest of what we have to offer in reference to the musical talents we have. Mr Kern Cowan, Tobago born and breed has a heart and willingness to assist local talent to reach their goals of making a mark for themselves, Glow Entertainment for the first time this year, being a Tobago branded product, open its door in Trinidad for the sole purpose to promote Tobago, approximately 5,000 plus individuals made it out to support Glow fest-Trinidad with a well support attendance from Tobago, that event play host to international Grammy Award winning  Gospel Minister Tye Tribette and Gospel Songstress  Jamie Grace. 

If the Question is asked, "Trinidad do you want Glow-fest back again?" the answer will be a definite, YES......Base on inside information from a reliable source: 2016 Glow Entertainment plans to take Glow Fest Regionally, now my encouragement to local artistes is to get your passport ready as well as get yourself out there musically and most of all get serious with ministry.  

Tobago this in my view some what of a  "Gospel Music Tourism" the more we support our Local talent and events it help us and motivate us to take that step in adding to economy, I need not go into the maths about it, but all in all your support is need. What Glow Entertainment is doing is to solely bring a balance into our way we live our lives through holistic development, so look out for some artistry programs/seminars to develop our local talents, and it is not only in the area of musicianship but other art forms like dance, songwriting, sound engineering, photography and videography just to name a few.

Let us change the way we think and operate by showing our support on Saturday 26th September at Shaw Park Cultural Complex, this event will feature: International Grammy nominated gospel sensation Mali Music along with BET Sunday Best  Finalist: Jessica Reedy and a full concert ministry for our very own Tobago boy: "Joel Positive" Murray, you need to get your tickets now, don't be the one to be left out of such a miraculous experience. #GlowFest2015Tobago

Did “D Lime” Really Celebrate 10 yrs of Success or Failure?

Hey Guys sorry for my late entry of  this long over due blog of  D' Lime 2015.

 Now again I've said this over and over in a previous blog from Murphy's Law  "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

I am all for good solid events, but then again, I know also that mistakes will be present, check this: " There is no perfect event", expect to have flaws.

As for Divine Connection International, I must congratulate the management and committee members, for putting on a pretty ok show, I know the work wasn't easy and there is a-lot of unforeseen things that may had happen. Therefore congrats guys hope to experience an even better event in 2016.

For my take as well as for the word on the ground, the show wasn't a 10 year celebration, it wasn't a celebrated event as it should of being....my opinion, if was to be a block party well, kudos that was accomplished. But as for a elevated,signature event no.....OMG...NO. 

One thing I am learning in promoting events of that nature  is to concentrate on your venue, your lights and most of all your sound system, Yes People!!!  the SOUND SYSTEM and (the crowd goes wild......roarrrrrrrrrrrrrr) ........ in my view the sound system could of being ok in its own right, like having the the best equipment, but not everybody who owns a sound system, does not necessarily mean they know how to operate it. When you have a bag ah man behind the console operating, how come you could have a perfect sound?  added to that you have artistes coming from all over to be a part and they're frustrated on stage......Big mistake No.1....your invited guest always have to feel comfortable, no dispute about that. (Stand to be corrected). I must say the artistes who came to be a part was very much uncomfortable, sorry to say, but  that alone could damage the franchise of what the event suppose be. #BacktotheDrawingBoard 

 Next,....I don't know if some people are into this event promoting for a fame or for name calling, cause you can't tell me you are video recording a show and you have people who is not a part of the band, walking up and down the stage while artists on stage, for e.g It have an alleged episode where one of our very own Tobago-gospel minister, on stage with a full band, and you have the Djs and supposedly sound tech fixing and doing stuff on stage..... oh come on, people you suppose to know better than that, next big mistake, utter disrespect, people a artiste will like to feel comfortable so he/she could deliver a solid performance/ministry, All that movement on stage ain't call for. 

As for the turn out, the obvious is that, it is independence night and the culture of our people around that time could be predicted, therefore the promoter and committee of the event need to just concentrate on giving the masses a good show, which is dealing with your sound, lighting and making sure your artist is taken care of, again if I am wrong correct me. I really hope for a standard risen event in 2016, and don't be afraid to ask for help from other gospel promoters. The mind set of "You Feel you Know everything" is serious nonsense, We need to step away from that. The people love the event but if you side stepping in not delivering what you think going to happen? Questions asked. #NoLoveLost #Ihope #smile 

Now for the performances,  even if the artistes came to deliver because of, it was not so. so in all in all. #Hurryupandfixit  #for2016. 

Local Church on False Prophet Rampage?

 This is a question of whether or not Christian's are taking their walk seriously......People who are so call "Prophets" are spoiling it for the ones who are genuinely seeking God for a word.


I must warn you all...what I am about to write here is not to tarnish anybody's reputation, but shed light on what is going on in and around Christianity and expose the nonsense for what it is....RUBBISH.

Now for those who know me I am a young man who love to see the things of God go smoothly.......But when I hear unpleasant and distasteful things, I do my investigations....you will know.

 God's people are not to be treated like fools....therefore when u have so call prophets coming from wherever they're coming from and just pull out individuals out of the congregation and say "God say , you and you is a prophet, and that individual/s feels all of a sudden they bigger than the body of Christ is just wrong to me.....God is a God of order........so if the prophet who prophesy...telling the truth or not, that does not mean you automatically take up the office of a prophet....base on my understanding that gift have to first be desired by the individual.....not somebody (a man) not the holy spirit who saying you are...... and poof, abracadabra you're magically a prophet.....Mr Man Stop your......hmm.....whooosaahh.

A certain full gospel church in the eastern side of Tobago according to my sources have an overwhelming of young prophets and prophetess operating in the prophetic....wow.....to a point of hearing it for the first time....I was like great some of our Christian young people stepping up.....But then again when my source link, me told me that these same prophets are causing disturbance in the community as well as among brethren marriages....I was like hold up... what utter nonsense I am hearing.........Well to that point I started investigating I contact one of my source's and they told me since after a prophet visited that congregation and speak to certain individuals that they are prophets, everything gone bizerk.....My source told me it had one instance where the chief prophet have individuals marching around their church building shouting weee hours of the night......and when the neighbor's confronted the prophet.....it's alleged his response was "Go Talk to God"....Seriously Oh come on fool...... 1Corinthians 14:3 says: On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their up-building and encouragement and consolation.....so why your causing confusion?

Another alleged incident, the so call prophet spreading rumors about another brother horn-ing his wife.....Mr man or woman don't mess up a good thing.....even if it was true or false why didn't you talk to the man/accused in secret?.......No you're a prophet and your want fame so your broadcast to the public...sarcastically speaking......again you on shhhhhhh.....mmmmmm

My source also reveal to me that, it's alleged, that one particular special service the so call prophet have selected members of the congregation to stand at the alter to  pray......... and the question is did he? NO!!!  the prophet moan for a whole hour not saying anything.......to this point I am turnt up....that is what I will  call mad man thing, I stand to be corrected .......and the final alleged event, the so call prophet ask members to write their name on a piece of paper, it  was said that their name is their guardian angel....HUH!!!.......now my opinion so if is/was.... Why will i leave my guardian angel in church? think about it......People be warned, it have other alleged events, so read the bible for yourself and know God for yourself......is not about what man say....is all about what God is saying, be mindfully of that. And you see all the wolf in sheep clothing.....I prayer God have mercy on their souls. 2 Peter 2:1-22 says: "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly".... Just if.....hmmm.

It's inevitable that once you found a formula that works! Continue to use it.....Glow Entertainment found that formula of re-inventing the way we now see and expect in gospel concerts, it's not just about going and jump up and down, but having that expectation that God is going to do something great. 

And as any functioning body there will be obstacles and challenges......So before I give you all the details/highlights of how wonderful the event was, I will give some of my observations as well as from some of my peeps on the ground about the Glow Fest Trinidad.

Being in Glow Fest Trinidad it was a wonderful experience for me personally, being a first timer to O2 Park. But my observation is not with the environment, but with people. 

My team and I along with other media personnel were conducting  interviews back stage and since there was two media team present beside numerous photographers, we were quite busy getting the  job done. During that time one of the International gospel ministers along with their entourage came, now you see everything for the ministers were back stage, therefore naturally once the ministers are there, the media will want exclusive, plus fans will want to engage there favorite  gospel minister.

 But getting to the story where the international gospel minister with their team came in, next thing is that every body have to clear the back of the stage before they could exit the transport, I am like What!!!! What is the problem with them coming to meet the media and some fans?...... It wasn't that serious, but how the gospel minister's allege  manager was carrying on is like oh he protecting his boss from groupies (again, it was allege)........Any whoo, news for you mister Trin-bago people don't run down christ-lebrities (a popular christian gospel minister), oh yes, I said it, we don't care too hoots if you black, white, or Indonesian, we pay our money for a good event, and yes we will want to take one or two pics but we ain't running down any artistes.......whooosaaah. 

In-spite of all I know people had a wonderful time dancing their shoe heels off at Glow-Fest Trinidad..... Receiving excellent performances and ministry from the Compass Bang Bang break Out Artistes, Jamie Grace, Isaac Blackman, Blessed Messenger, Denise Plummer just to name a few.

Now I told you guys I have peeps on the ground.......Now..its alleged that , there were bands that were given for Glow, from a reggae concert and people were mad about that when they saw it, it had secular artiste faces were printed on it,I didn't even recognize it,...(cause normally, as regular concert goer I save my ticket stubs and hand bands.....also when I saw that the gate lady took the entire ticket I asked the question and she told me I can use the band, so i thought ok fine, without looking at the band cause of what the lady said......is when I was on my way home the next day someone was like u still have on that band and the conversation started, that it wasn't a Glow band, I was most upset about that.....my source expressed. 

My source continued: The seating/section for VIP was horrid!! My view is that the promoter buss ah smart ting by splitting the sections vertically than the regular horizontal way, and trust me others agree, it's smart for business, but we got to remember it's not all about business, but what's right and comfort of the VIPs.... I think people in the secular arena, they would of  "kick up" about that... If so much money is being spent, I think the least that can be done is for people to get their monies worth, cause the center of the stage plus attention was over at the general side and VIPs just got the few seconds of the artiste.... VIP to my finite understanding means "VERY IMPORTANT PERSONS" I could be wrong and stand to be corrected and I think they should be treated as such, not shoved in a corner.

Forward Wayyyy Forward?

In-spite of their recent challenges and obstacles, and as it is said one door closes another opens. That was the case with Forward the Band.

Tobago was well represented with energetic ministry from Forward the Band.......The band was a true representation of  overcoming any challenge that came up against them.









After Forward's ministry at Glow Fest Trinidad at O2 Park, many attendees were pleased with their ministry/Performance, they were complimented by Glow entertainment Manager and the Engineer, the engineer added that, that was the only band that was on point in setting up, the fact that they didn't sound check, also former road manager of the band expressed his compliment and felt very proud of the band.

Tobago gospel ministers have a lot to be grateful for especially when it comes to our music and better yet our ministry, every gospel minister from Tobago show forth true ministry as well as the passion and drive to give of our best, not losing sight of who we are acknowledging.

Tobago-Brand Promotions endorse the band Forward and we pray God's Blessing on all of them and hope that Humility reigns in everything that they do.
